Types of Stage Lighting

Stage lighting mainly includes: face light, slap, column light, top light, backlight, foot light, heaven and earth exhaust light, flowing light and chasing light pursuit.

1. Face light: the light from the stage from the top of the audience is mainly for the front lighting of the characters and spreading the basic light of the whole stage.

2. Slap: located on both sides of the platform, the light tilted into the stage, divided into several layers, mainly assist the surface light, strengthen facial lighting, and increase the three-dimensional sense of characters and scenery.

3. Column light (also known as side light): the light projected from both sides of the platform mouth is mainly used for the lighting of the two sides of the characters or scenery, to increase the sense of three-dimensional and contour.

4, top light: the light from the top of the stage to the stage, from the front to the back is divided into a row of top light, two rows of top light, three rows of top light..., etc., mainly used for the stage general lighting, enhance the stage illumination, and there are a lot of scenery, props fixed point irradiation, mainly by the top light to solve.

5. Backlight: the light projected from the reverse direction of the stage (such as overhead light, bridge light and other reverse irradiation) can outline the outline of the characters and scenery, enhance the sense of three-dimensional and transparency, and can also be used as a specific light source.

6. Bridge light: the light cast to the stage at the bridge on both sides of the stage is mainly used to assist the column light, enhance the three-dimensional sense, and also used for other light position is inconvenient to project, and can also be used as a specific light source.

7. Foot light: the light projected from the stage on the stage in front of the stage mainly assists the surface light lighting and eliminates the shadow of the face and jaw of the figure caused by the high irradiation such as surface light.

8, heaven and earth exhaust light: from the sky curtain above and below the sky curtain of the light, mainly used for the lighting and color change of the sky curtain.

9, mobile light: located on the mobile lamp frame on both sides of the stage, mainly to assist the bridge light, to supplement the light on both sides of the stage or other specific light.

10. Light pursuit: the light position used from the audience or other positions is mainly used to track the performance or highlight a specific light, and also used for the host, which is a close-up of the stage art and plays the role of making the finishing point.

Common lights have focus light, soft light, return light, astigmatism light, modeling light, foot light, light column light, scene slide and sky effect light, computer light and chase light.

1. Spotlight: it is one of the most widely used main lights in stage lighting. At present, the market has 1KW and 2KW, and 2KW is the most widely used. It illuminate the light concentrated, the spot contour edge is relatively clear, can highlight a local, can also enlarge the spot lighting an area, as the main light source of the stage, often used in surface light, slap, side light and other light position.

2, soft light: the light is soft and symmetrical, can highlight a part, but also no stiff spot, convenient for several lights to connect, common 0.3KW, 1KW, 2KW, etc. Mainly used for column light, flow light and other close range light position.

3, return light: it is a kind of reflective lamp, characterized by hard light, high illumination and long range, is a kind of economic and efficient strong light, common mainly 0.5KW, 1KW, 2KW, etc., with 2KW used the most.

4, astigmatism light: diffuse light, all called, large projection area, divided into sky astigmatism and ground astigmatism, common 0.5KW, 1KW, 1.25KW, 2KW, etc., mostly used for sky curtain irradiation, can also be used for the general lighting of the theater podium.

5, modeling lamp: the principle is between the spotlight and the spotlight, is a special kind of light lamp, mainly used for the modeling projection of characters and scenery.

6, foot light lamp (also known as strip lamp): soft light, wide area. Mainly as the middle scene, mesh cloth, cloth color, can also be in the mouth position auxiliary surface lighting.

7, light column lamp (also known as downlight): currently is widely used, such as PAR 46, PAR 64 and other models. Can be used for lighting the characters and scenery, can also be directly installed on the stage, exposed to the audience, forming a lamp array, for the stage decoration and lighting dual role.

8. Scene slide and canopy effect lamp: can form the overall picture on the stage canopy, and a variety of special effects, such as: wind, rain, thunder, electricity, water, fire, smoke, cloud, etc.

9, computer lamp: this is a kind of intelligent lamps controlled by DMX512 or RS232 or PMX signal control, its light color, light spot, illumination are better than the above conventional lamps is a kind of intelligent lamps developed in recent years, often installed in the surface light, top light, stage back steps and other positions, its operation in the color, shape, map and so on can be compiled operation procedures. Due to the different power size, the use on the stage should be different. 10, chase lamp: is the stage lighting lamp, characterized by high brightness, the use of lens imaging, can present clear spot, by adjusting the focal length, and can change the spot false and real. There is active light bar, can easily change color, light body can run freely. At present, there are many varieties in the market, and the labeling indicators are different.
